Job Description
We are seeking a Corporate Event Planner to work with our client in Los Angeles, CA. The role is W2 hourly with Roth Staffing (Ultimate Staffing and Ledgent Technology are divisions of Roth) with all work taking place onsite daily. The parking fee is $275.00 per month and is not reimbursed.

Description:

Demonstrates foundational to intermediate knowledge in meeting and event planning and works with moderate independence to manage standard and moderately complex meetings and events. Responsible for coordinating and executing a broad range of internal meetings, training programs, corporate events, and leadership events that support business objectives and associate engagement. Partners with Corporate Event Planners on larger strategic events while independently managing assigned programs from planning through execution.

Role Description

* Works with internal clients to plan meetings, advising and making recommendations based on knowledge of events best practices related to agenda flow, logistical arrangements, and attendee experience.

* Executes meetings and events from concept to execution including venue management, audio/visual technology, attendee management, food and beverage, transportation, accommodations, and budget management.

* Selects, recommends, and negotiates all vendor and venue contracts, while considering costs, risks, and service outcomes.

* Prioritizes and manages multiple meetings, event planning timelines, stakeholders, partners, and vendors for assigned events.

* Manage attendee communication including pre-event communication, invitations, registration and respond to event inquiries.

* Serve as a valuable secondary resource to METS Planners when not taking the lead on the assigned program.

* Demonstrate sound judgement in resolving routine event planning problems, seeking guidance from managers for complex challenges.

* Contributes to post-event evaluations and lessons learned to improve future meeting and event outcomes.

* Develop and maintain effective professional relationships with internal customers, business partners, vendors and colleagues.

Industry Best Practice Research

* Researches market rates, supplier capabilities, and industry best practices to support planning recommendations.

* Identifies inefficiencies/issues, recommends solutions, implements improvements.

* Oversee onsite attendees monitoring meeting attendance, attendee health/safety, live travel status and ground transportation.

* Support special projects that benefit the operations of the department as assigned.

* Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Business and Technical Skills

* Knowledge of meeting planning processes, event logistics, budget tracking, and basic project management

* Demonstrate sound judgement and problem-solving skills

* Ability to manage effective professional relationships with key external and internal customers, business units, vendors and colleagues.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledge of event management platforms such as Cvent

* Handle sensitive information and maintain data confidentially.

Working conditions:

* Local Travel required (up to 25%)

* Required to do extensive standing and walking (up to 8 hours a day)

* Flexible schedule can include irregular hours/evenings/early mornings/weekends

* May be required to drive personal vehicle to events

* Ability to transport supplies and materials that weigh up to 50lbs/23kgs
